Tourism - the phenomenon of spatial mobility of people, which is related to a voluntary change of residence, the environment and the rhythm of life. It covers the whole of the relations and phenomena related to tourism.
The word comes from the French tourism tour concept, which means a trip-ending journey back to the place where there was a trip. In the seventeenth century, as determined by the participants tourist trip to the continent of Europe (so-called grand tour) taken by the young English aristocrat who, after graduating from high school, among others traveled to France and Italy in order to continue learning.
World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) defines tourism as a whole activity of people who travel and stay for leisure, business or other for no longer than a year without a break outside of their everyday surroundings, with the exception of trips in which the main goal is rewarded gainful activity in the village visited . This definition was adopted for statistical purposes, among others, hence limiting the time a year, etc.

Tourism is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon, which refers to many aspects of human life. Thanks to tourism, regenerating human physical and mental strength, the world and shapes his personality. Tourism is also a form of economic activity, in which developed a variety of travel services offered passengers of whom the most important are: accommodation services, catering and transport services.
Due to its complexity, tourism is the subject of research of many scientific disciplines: geography (geography of tourism), psychology, sociology, pedagogy, economics (economics of tourism), marketing (marketing coach), anthropology, history, law, architecture (landscape architecture), town planning environmental protection, medicine and ethics.
Tourism is the subject of research in the following aspects:
spatial (migration tourist, tourist management),
economic Wyjazdy studenckie (tourism market, tourism, economic impacts of tourism development),
psychological (human needs, motives to take travel destinations, experiences and behaviors in the target place of residence),
social (relationships between tourists and the communities visited, social stereotypes, social ties),
cultural (tourism as a function of culture, the interaction between the culture represented by tourists visited the community and culture).

The nineteenth century was a turning point for tourism. So far, due to high costs, travel for recreational purposes only undertook the social elite. Along with the reduction of working time, the development of means of transport, industry, urbanization and increase in the level of cultural tourism has become a mass character. Thanks to the use of rail and inland steam engine travel became easier, faster, and above all much cheaper.
The first railway Przeprowadzki Warszawa line was created in 1825 in England. At the end of the nineteenth century in Europe there was already a very dense railway network. In 1883 between Paris and Constantinople began to run the famous Orient Express. At the turn of the century began to develop road transport. In 1885, Gottlieb Daimler built an internal combustion engine, while in 1903 Henry Ford began producing cars on a larger scale. The first motorway was founded in Italy in 1924. Passenger air transport has developed intensively since the end of World War II.
In 1841 Thomas Cook was founded in England, the first travel agency. Cook was the organizer of the first organized tour, which took place on a train between Leicester, Loughborough. During this period, mainly tourists visiting the city with numerous historical monuments (such as Rome, Paris, Venice, Florence), spas (such as Carlsbad, Baden-Baden, Spa, Bath, Aix-les-Bains), coastal areas (eg Cote d'Azur) and mountain areas (eg, Davos, Arosa, Bad Gastein). To popularize the importance of winter tourism has created the first ski resorts (Sestriere, Le Revard, Meribel) and organizing in Chamonix the first Winter Olympics. In addition, the company invoked to live and tourism associations: British Alpine Club (1857), Österreichischer Alpenverein (1862), Schweizer Alpen Club (1863) and the Club Alpino Italiano (1863). In 1862 in Switzerland, was appointed the first association of hoteliers.
After World War II (especially from the 50s) there was a sharp increase in tourist destination especially in the more prosperous countries of Western Europe and North America. The most popular tourist region was then the Mediterranean (particularly the coast of France, Spain and Italy). In the '60s and 70 intense growth of the tourism, ski built then most of the ski. In subsequent years, evolved in tourism regions located outside of Europe (islands in the Caribbean Sea, Gulf of Mexico and Oceania). In the 80s began to see the negative impact of mass tourism on the natural environment and local communities, and thus came the idea of ??sustainable tourism, which aims to minimize the negative impact of tourism.

Are you still sleeping? Or are you awake?
In me, the dream is neverending , always there, always knocking. At times, when I look at the real, I see you. In my car, or at work. While playing with my kids, or watching TV. I see you. Sometimes I feel you, tugging at my mind. In pictures , in words, hell, I even see you in trees. The code is always there. Maybe not at first, and maybe not immediatley noticed, but the things you do jump out at me like a Flagged Merv. I can still see.

Sometimes I think i'm crazy, seeing these things that remind me of those days. The days of sorrow and pain, the days of victory and bliss. I still see you. Words that remind, sights that force recall. Recall of my friends, and enemies alike.

A street sign or a slogan. A black cat or a song. These things are like glue.

For I AM THE MATRIX, and i'll always have you.

Hi,

just curious, now that the game is in the mischievous fans' hands, is there any way to, say, detach the camera from the player character and enable it to fly through the world without restrictions (obviously with the movement controlled by mouse and keyboard)?
The way you can do it, for example, in 3D design programs such as City Engine?

Would be kinda neat... you could use it for "remote viewing" inside the game, or shoot aesthetic tribute clips for Youtube... fly up to the sky, or what not.

Sorry if this has already been addressed somewhere else, but I thought I'd ask

So, does anyone here feel like pimping up the TV Tropes article about MxO?

I'm not a "troper" myself, and don't have the best memory and comprehension of the MxO storyline either, and I doubt I've got the time right now to work on this - but wouldn't that be an awesome idea overall?

Say what we want about the overall quality of the writing, I think it could be asserted without doubt that this game was, at the very least, a very colorful and entertaining piece of fan-fiction.
Enough cool story ideas and developments to get excited about, and a lot of plot devices and overall silliness to make affectionate fun of.

Needless to say, it's difficult to count how many terms from TV Tropes would fit the various plot devices, characters, developments, style and behind-the-scenes stuff that have cropped up in this game, and its community, in the course of its duration.
Certainly could amount to a bit more than this:
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Ma...http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheMa

The Effectuator would fit under "Flanderization" (due to his development from the initial sarcastic villain to a complete goof-ball), as well as various tropes involving "lampshading" and "fourth wall" (considering he was often used almost as an in-character excuse for Rarebit to provide fun and throw parties),
the Chessmaster and Recurring Villain for the General,
Character Derailment for Morpheus,
"Asecended Fanboy" for The Kid, OH DEFINITELY,
certainly a lot of "deadpan snarkers" incl. Flood, Anome and maybe Eff.. nah.
Maybe "Eldritch abomination" for the Assassin, and the fly monsters.

"Back from the Dead", or "First Law of Resurrection" for the Twins, "subverted" with Morpheus, and whatever happened withTrinity at the end (??);

the Reveals revolving around Cryptos and the General easily pass for "the Untwist" (EDIT: also somewhere in "Poor Communication Skills", as the information concerning the General being behind the fake agents, and Cryptos, was techncally revealed to the player, and supposedly the mission controller, and yet ignored until the "official reveals"; could also fit under "plot-induced amnesia", maybe, except that that trope page is empty for now),
red herrings for all things concerning Neo, and to some degree, Morpheus' broadcasts,
aborted arcs for all things LET,
"Wham moment" for moments such as the beginning of the war, Morpheus' death - maybe to some extent "wham episode" for the "machine spies" plot, or oligarchs, and the death of the Oracle.
"Plot Tumor" (to some extent) for the Merovingian, exiles and vampires, as well as Sati etc.;

EDIT:
"The Unreveal"
The Merovingian started an investigation that implied an upcoming reveal about the pods and the Machines' alternate energy sources. That plotline just kinda stopped and never amounted to anything, right?

"Monster of the Week" vs. "Myth Arc"? Heck yea!

Stylistically,
some things could be said about the game occupying different levels of "the sliding scale of silly vs. serious".
"Large Ham" for the voice-acting of Cryptos and the Merovingian, as well as "Ham and Cheese" for various cases of over-acting in-game, most notably Ookami.
Most definitely "gratuitous French" and "gratuitous Italian" for Merv and Pace (although the former already was in the movie).

"All There in the Manual" for the neighborhood / gang info and event transcriptions found on official websites and in-game maps.
Various tropes related to "Mr. Exposition" (characters in missions, esp. mission controllers, and events, that are solely there to provide information), "infodump" (wordy plot explanations, mostly in missions) and "as you know" (exposition directed at the audience, not the character), for obvious cases of exposition.

"Show, don't tell" - self-explanatory.

So yea, just some examples at the top of my head, and I probably just scratched the tip of the iceberg there.
Would certainly be a fun and refreshing way of looking back at the game and bringing it to the more general (if still nerdy) public (I'd certainly be more interested to read that kind of thing, than a plain, old story summary - ymmv, obviously).

Afaik, anyone can go there, make an account and edit away, so whoever feels like it

"All possible steps are being taken to ensure team members affected by the transition are treated with appropriate concern," the company added.
So i ask you : do someone of you have one ? Maybe someone have it on an old harddisc that would be replaced short before CR2 was applied or you made a DVD Backup in the past from the client installation ? If yes : could you make an archive of that?
The only client that i could find was from 28. march 2006 and if i am right CR2 is there applied.
I noticed someone created an emu to test the basic functionality of Interlock, but in this testing phase, players are free to move. Does it seem to you that a new design for CQC could be made and allow more freedom of movement without abandoning the key features/advantages of Interlock like the hotbar and include proper multi-fighting without being a "hack-and-slash?" Do you think it's possible to improve cinematic camera angles, scripting, and bullet-time in this system?

... on the nature of cinema and fiction?
________________

So I'm just saying this, I'm not anything anyone could call a cinema expert (I don't even know the entirety of TV Tropes from memory), and this isn't something I've thought through all that much - and I'm sure people have brought it up before lots of times.

But basically, I was rewatching the critics' commentary on the movies the other day, maybe watched the one or other scene along the way, and I started wondering:

Most obviously, the Real is the gritty, more boring place where people dress in shitty, boring clothes, while the Matrix is the one where everyone gets to dress up in cool fashion and act like a superhero.

We get that. Now, what I think most of us would agree on, as well, is that the scenes inside the Matrix are almost exclusively much more exciting to watch than the scenes in the Real - sure, the looks and design of the Zion dock, the ships, the Sentinels the Machine city (!!!) and most of the action in the Real are pretty epic, and the rehabilitation montage from the first movie was done beautifully (combined with the sense of mystery surrounding the "real world" at that point), but other than that?

The angles aren't that interesting for the most part, the stylization is threadbare, and overall it feels more like just exciting shoot-em-up action than anything else, and first and foremost banks on scale and quantity.
While in the Matrix, the action is, more of often than not, reliant on focusing on single elements, like fighting characters, and is punctuated by a slick slow-mo or camera angle at almost every turn.

Then, we have the dialogue scenes, of which the main bulk inside the Matrix is comprised of people acting impossibly slick and cool, putting on pokerfaces, and talking with a mixture of cool one-liners and indecipherable crypto speak that sounds profound and mysterious.
In the Real, approximately the same portion is dedicated to dull and boring techno babble, strategy talk, domestic soap opera, and love sap.

Where the Matrix is filled with slick hammy businessmen / men in black, the Real has pissed-off bosses and bureaucrats with wooden faces. Where the Matrix has a somewhat lame-acting Zen kid thinking he's Yoda, the Real has an over-ambitious, annoying teeny bopper.
Where the token Asian in the Matrix is a slick cool cartoon who cans kung fu and wears a unique white night gown or whatever, the Real's is a badass general Hartman wannabe who yells a lot and says things like "you'll see that I and the Machines have something in common, if you fail me private".
Where the Matrix has cool looking vampire henchmen and oblivious, zombie-like businessmen for extras, the Real has boring cussing soldiers and a bunch of "people in big robes who sit tableau-like around tables or rocks, looking awe-filled and reverent" from Bible movies or something.

Now granted, the contrast isn't as clear-cut as it gets - on occasion, individuals in the Matrix will take off their sunglasses and start talking like normal people [especially the Oracle scene from the first]; some action stuff, like the helicopter chase, will look pretty "normal" and conventional; on the other hand, the Real has some amazing memorable shots like the drilling machine, or a ship flying through exploding fireballs, and some single dialogue scenes (the ending of Reloaded, all scenes with Bane - you know, the Matrix import - and some others) acquire some character and tension - but overall, that's the general impression.

I mean, even in the first movie, as soon as Tank entered the screen with his euphoric, nerdy, wise-cracking attitude, you knew the woolly, mysterious vibe the movie had set up in the first 40 minutes, is gone.
The scene where Neo and Trinity discuss rescuing Morpheus is probably the most tedious and boringest in the whole movie (basically, music starts, then characters stop and say stuff, then music plays again, then Trin says something, then music starts again) - then they enter the construct, Neo says his "lots of guns" and suddenly it's cool again.

Look at the difference in tone in the climactic action sequences between the two worlds - while, ultimately, the cartoony farce in the Matrix isn't any less silly if you look at it in a dry fashion, the Matrix has all the "cool" cheese that makes you smile, while the Real has all the "mundane" clichés that make you (or, at least, certainly me) roll your eyes.

I can forever laugh in joy at the Agents' pretentious, empty coolness or Neo's and Trinity's one-liners while inside the Matrix, and can't even bring myself to hate the awfully cheesy "we already know I'm the one that beats you" "it ends tonight" - whereas each piece of text uttered during the Siege, and the parallel hovercraft chase, makes me cringe; Neo and Trinity better shut up and focus on their trip, no need to share hope and confess your lov-... ooh, there it goes.

Morpheus' monologues are equally silly and stirring in both worlds, yet in the Matrix it's mostly slick and mysterious, while the rave speech makes you choke on the HAM (some stirring speeches by real life politicians etc. are comparably over-the-top, just as those in generic war and sports movies).

So what am I saying here? For all I can judge, from my perspective and according to my tastes, the Matrix scenes are the cool and slick fanservice to the Real's boring and mundane fan DISservice.

Now, sure, the "Real" is supposed to be "real", thus more "mundane", but, come on, it's also an exciting, dangerous futuristic dystopia place - could we have more of the adventure and exploration, and less of the soap opera shit, about husbands returning to their wives? Did the "mundaneness of reality" really need to make not only Cypher roll his eyes in disgust, but also us, the AUDIENCE?!
At the same time, the Matrix is the place where one gets to do cool stuff, but do the characters really need to act like fucking cartoons, drawing everyone's attention to themselves, and making the more snobby viewer laugh out loud at the comicbook schlock?

The portrayal of both worlds goes beyond portraying "reality" and "simulation" - it's a meta-commentary on cinema (or, you know, tries to be).
The mundane reality that we all sometimes want to escape from (you know, the one where we need to go to the laundry and put on our clothes every time - heck, one of the stupidest lines in the trilogy is about strapping on a boot), is captured by mundane scenes that make the viewer wanna leave the theater.
Whereas the Matrix is portrayed as a slick, wet escapist dream where we all get to wear cool clothes, and give off cool one-liners and sound smart before blowing off a villain's head with a triple kung fu kick.

Ultimately, as a commentary on actual reality, this approach is way too childish and obvious, but as a stealth meta joke directed at the audience - heck, why not?

Or, you know, the Wachowskis just didn't know how to direct a scene that wasn't either like hammy stuff from a superhero comicbook, or something from a clichéd war flick no one wants to see. Who knows - they certainly made me scratch my brain on that

This isn't meant to be a piece of apologetics, just a mundane and obvious thought I've had.

In case anyone bothered to read through this, I'd be interested in some contributions and commentary
Also, obviously I haven't thought this through down to the detail.

PS: The Matrix is also the world where you can much better hide your lack of acting skills.

EDIT:
Improved a few details and clumsy expressions. Maybe I shouldn't write these long texts at night...
